My name is Jesse Mack and welcome to my e-Portfolio! I am a percussion primary originally from Goshen, Indiana. I am currently studying Instrumental/General Music Education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. During my time at BSU, I have gained experience playing in the concert bands, symphony orchestra, and concert percussion ensemble. I also have had several years of experience in the world class marching percussion circuit as a front ensemble percussionist. I have been a member in such world class ensembles as the Madison Scouts, Bluecoats, Colts Drum and Bugle Corps, and Rhythm X. I have received instruction from a wide variety of very experienced teachers, such as Braham Dembar, Bruno Cabrera, Ryan Kilgore, Lane Summerlin, Derrick Shannon, Brad Palmer, Craig Loeffler, James Sparling, Tim Jackson, Tim Fairbanks, Andrew Markworth, Lee Allman, Mike Bishop, and Lee Beddis. I also have experience working with several high school front ensembles, including the Fairfield High School Marching band (Goshen, IN), Blue Springs High School Golden Regiment (Blue Springs, MO), Lawrence Township Winter Percussion (Indianapolis, IN), and the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township (Indianapolis, IN.)
My goal as a music educator is to inspire self-discipline, excellence, and creativity in my students through performing and understanding music. I believe that this can be done exposing students to concepts related to technique, music theory, music history, and the effect music has on individuals, society, and our world culture.
